Cross-contamination risk from personal devices in the kitchen. A cell phone can carry bacteria and other contaminants, and handling the phone while slicing fruit can transfer those microbes to your hands, gloves, tools, and the fruit itself. When contamination is possible, the correct action is to discard the fruit that may have been contaminated and wash your hands before resuming work (and replace gloves if they were used). This stops the spread of germs to other produce. Ignoring the issue, continuing to slice with gloves, or pursuing a phone interview do not address the food-safety risk at hand.
